I'm a safety consultant, and have had several clients who paid "American Safety Council" for 10-hour classes, thinking they would receive a 10-hour card issued by a REAL OSHA Education Center. They did not get what they paid for, and the ASC's phone #'s led nowhere.
The ASC's site advertises that it offers 10- and 30-hour classes and represents itself as an "OSHA Education Center". It is NOT an OSHA Ed Center, and it says in small print that "completion will not result in issuance of an OSHA Outreach Training Program student completion card." (I had to really look to find that disclaimer.) The last person I know who lost his money is a young construction worker who cannot afford to lose the money.
After he spent hours working on the ACS's worthless online product, he was obliged to spend another 10 hours to get the real deal. Stay away from these without-a-conscience fraudsters!
